Bobby Valchev learned to play the piano at a very young age. He graduated from the National Music Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, and participated in festivals in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and Poland as a member of the Sofia Boys’ Choir.
Although he has a classical music education, jazz is the music that best speaks to him. Bobby has performed at many jazz festivals in Europe. Bobby has worked with world famous jazzmen such as the multi-Grammy Award-winning musician George Benson, bassist Marcus Miller and jazz drummer Billy Cobham. He was the Musical Director and pianist of an original project of Claude J. Woods of Earth, Wind and Fire, and served as an assistant professor to Milcho Leviev during his piano and voice Master classes in Bulgaria.
From 2008 to 2011, Valchev worked as a jazz pianist London and still performs there with his jazz trio. He relocated to Dubai in 2011 to continue his career, where he has performed in a number of private, corporate and social events.
Bobby Valchev is very passionate about teaching his students piano and voice, and has been a faculty member of GEMS Music Hub since 2011. His methods of teaching are focused on the individual needs of each student.
